Annual Newberry College Jazz Festival-

Events all day at Wiles Chapel, Free and Open to the public.
Featured Newberry College Jazz Big Band Concert at 1:00pm. 

On the first weekend of March the annual Newberry College Jazz Festival will be returning to celebrate its 61st year running. This jazz festival is one of the oldest in the nation and is held in conjunction with the South Carolina Band Directors Association. Performances are free and open to the public and will take place in Wiles Chapel. The Newberry College Jazz Big Band will perform at 1pm, as well as 2 high school All-State Jazz Bands. Typically this festival also features a guest artist performing with the College Big Band. In the past guest artists have included the trumpet player for the Late Show on CBS, Al Chez, all American jazz trombonist from NYC, Conrad Herwig, and Grammy winning bass guitarists Victor Wooten of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.
