The PRT department maintains the City's 100 acres of parks, implements youth and adult sports activities, has a Senior Adult program, plans the City's special events, promotes the City's tourism, manages the Newberry Firehouse Conference Center, and the Newberry Arts Center.

City PRT Program and Park Guide


The PRT department maintains 15 parks encompassing 100 acres that range from scenic passive, to ball fields, to parks with playground equipment, shelter and walking tracks. Click HERE for a listing and location of City parks. City park shelters and athletic fields are available for rent for special events and parties. Contact 803-321-1015 for details on rental rates and more. Please be sure to contact the PRT office no later than 5pm on the Wednesday prior to your event date to reserve a shelter. Willowbrook Park Cabin now available for rent!

The Oakland Tennis Center is located in Newberry at 1448 First Street. Contact them at 803-321-3890 or visit, open 9 AM- 9 PM daily.

FREE Summer Mobile Recreation Program runs annually, mornings June-July. Call 803-321-1015 for dates, times, and locations.
