On Wednesday, July 14, Tom Mullikin and the South Carolina 7 will be hiking into town via the Newberry Passage of the Palmetto Trail. Tom and his team are using the trail to hike to the “7 Wonders of South Carolina,” and have chosen Newberry as one of their rest stop destinations. They will be coming through to explore the history, enjoy the downtown atmosphere, and premier their documentary film of last year’s inaugural hike. A few special events surrounding the occasion:

Wednesday, July 14:

1 pm: Hike

• The team will hike downtown from College Street, meeting at the Newberry College Baseball office at the corner of College and 121. They will end the hike in downtown's Memorial Park. All are welcome to hike along. Mayor Senn and a representative from the Palmetto Trail will be present.

5:30 pm- 7:30 pm: Special Event in Memorial Park

• Food Trucks will be parked next to the park to serve visitors coming to the various outdoorsmanship and gym booths, as well as participants in a Bike Rodeo provided by the Newberry Museum and NPD.
• A green carpet will be rolled out next to the Opera House to welcome people in for the movie premiere. Many notables will be present, including the Lieutenant Governor.

7:30 pm: Movie

• FREE Documentary Premiere, followed by Q & A with Tom and the team. The Movie is about 1 hour.
• ALL ARE WELCOME- this is a fantastic learning opportunity for all ages to understand more about SC’s natural beauty and resources.
