Newberry Arts Center

The Newberry Arts Center was established in 2014 and is operated by the City’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. In less than a year a solid arts program was established that includes programs for all ages. The mission of the Newberry Arts Center (NAC) and Newberry Arts Program is to provide quality arts experiences to all interested citizens and increase support for working artists while creating appreciative current and future art patrons by involving the diverse population and fostering local economic growth while enhancing the quality of life for all residents. The NAC also established and hosted the first ever South Carolina Clay Conference, an annual conference for clay enthusiasts held in Newberry each year.

We offer Fun Art Parties for All Skills!
These one night parties are a fun way to experience art for a few hours with friends over drinks or with your family or children. We offer parties for canvas paintings, pottery/sculpting parties, and door decoration painting parties. All materials are provided, but please bring a drink or snack of your choosing. Interested in throwing your own party? Call us at 803-597-1125!

Photography Meet-Up Art Show!

Learn more about this Meet-Up group at the bottom of the page. 1st photography show & opening reception on August 31st from 6-8pm.

Plein Air Event:

This event will be held on October 26 and is open to all 2D media excluding photography. There will be a reception that evening at 6pm which will be open to the public and will have artwork for sale. The show will be up until November 23rd. Online registration will open August 24th and will cost $25.

Iphone Photography Workshop

Three Day Workshop!
October 21, 28, & November 4 at 6pm- MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND
The 3 sessions on how to make the most of your iPhone camera by covering features, tips, and tricks. Practical in class exercises along with out of class exercises with be given to enhance learning. Taught by photographer Erdal Caba whose photographs are on display at the Village Artists Art Gallery at Sandhills. This workshop is for those with any model iphone.

NAC Meetup Groups

Photography Meetup Group:

Attention amateur, professional and hobbyist photographers of Newberry, SC. Let's meet up and talk photography! Bring a camera if you have one, this can include phone cameras! This group meets on the 1st Monday of each month. Our theme this month is "BLUE", and we will meet on September 2nd. Pick up to 5 images to share with the group, and email those images before the meeting to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We will share all the images with each other, pick a theme for the next group meeting, and go on a quick photo walk. This group is informal, it is meant to bring local photographers together to connect, talk and share our love for photography. All are welcome.

**We will have our 1st photography show at the end of this month! The opening reception will be on August 31st from 6-8pm.

All classes and workshops must meet a requirement for a minimum number of participants. Be sure to register early to ensure that the class of your choice will run as scheduled. Refunds and make up classes will not be provided due to student illness, unexpected travel, or reasons not the responsibility of the faculty or NAC. Students ages 16 and 17 may take adult level classes with parental permission.  Use of studios solely for commercial production work is not permitted. NAC reserves the right to refuse enrollment to individuals with a history of unacceptable behavior.
