The City's Employee of the Year was announced at the City's recent Employee Recognition Luncheon. This year's winner is Lucille Kinard. A Newberry High and Piedmont Tech graduate, Lucille has been with the City since 1997. She started her career with the City in the Finance Department and moved to the Fire Department as an Administrative Assistant in 2000.
The Employee-of-the-Year nomination of Lucille cited her compassion for her co-workers, her respect for City objectives and service goals and her desire for service beyond expectations. She is described as a well-rounded team player who exemplifies all that is desired in a City employee.
Lucille is a single parent of two boys, Willie and Xavier. She consistently demonstrates the ability to balance her personal and professional life while maintaining total commitment to both.
