How qualified are our
firefighters?
All firefighters meet minimum state and OSHA required
training standards. All career staff
are nationally certified Firefighter II trained, Hazardous Materials technician
level trained, and trained for high angle and confined spaces rescues. Officers are trained in instructional,
managerial, and prevention skills. To
meet the changing demands of our nation, staff are trained in terrorism

Q. Does the Fire Department offer tours of its facilities
A. Many times The City of Newberry Fire Department does not have the staffing recourses to send people out or to have someone at the fire department available to give a tour, as each day varies at the fire department. We would love to be able to provide a tour, but this may be dependent on our staffing. Feel free to call 803.321.1030 to check the availability of our staff.
Q. What about parties?
A. We may be available for parties, depending on our schedule and commitments. Feel free to call 803.321.1030 to check the availability of our staff.

Since
home heating is the single largest expense in your family's energy budget, it
offers the greatest opportunities for savings.
Q. Can insulation save me money?
A: Yes! Good insulation is the single most important
factor in reducing the amount of energy needed to heat and cool your home. Adequate insulation can reduce your heating
and cooling bill by as much as 50%.
Five to seven inches in the attic floor and three inches in all outside
walls are recommended. Storm windows
and doors added to a well-insulated home will reduce heating and cooling costs
even more.
