Biergarten & German Cuisine | Arts & Crafts Vendors | Kindertown | Live Music Classic Cars

Come celebrate Newberry's German Heritage with us! The festival will feature authentic German cuisine, German Biergarten, and plenty of art & craft vendors. Our Rocktoberfest stage will feature polka music, variety hits, and our Best German Costume contest! Once again there will be FREE Kids Activities in Kindertown: Family Fun Zone! We'll also host the Newberry Car Buff's Classic Car Display, this year by the setting of Downtown's original Coca Cola Mural. And don't forget, the Newberry Oktoberfest is FREE admission!**

Festival Fast Facts

Admission: The Newberry Oktoberfest is FREE. There is no charge for the live entertainment or the kids' activities!

What can you expect to see at Oktoberfest?

The Newberry Oktoberfest abounds with German Food, German Beirgarten, over 40 Arts and Crafts Vendors of all kinds, live entertainment for all ages, Community Organizations, Classic Cars, and all around Fall Fun!

What can you find in Kindertown?

Visit Kindertown for Toy Vendors, Face Painting, Photo Booth, and more!
Free Kids Activities Include: Inflatable Slide, Obstacle Course, and Bounce House, Video Game Truck, Balloon Animals, and Musical Carousel.

Parking and Directions

There is free public parking around the festival area. Parking will not be allowed in closed street areas, and those who dismiss this rule will be towed by local law enforcement at the owner's expense. 11 special temporary van accessible parking spaces for the festival will be located at the Newberry County Public Library's drive through side parking lot (1100 Friend Street). Additional van accessible parking can be located by the library, in the parking lots at Friend Street (1400 and 1300 blocks), and behind the Ritz Theater (around 1512 Martin St.). The City of Newberry is conveniently located 4 miles off I-26 at exit 76, between Columbia and Greenville/Spartanburg. If you want to chart your course, enter this address in your favorite online mapping site: 1109 Main Street


Service animals are allowed. For the safety of our event patrons and due to the high volume of foot traffic we also recommend that pets are not brought to the event. We don't want them getting stepped on!There is currently not a ban on bringing pets. If they are brought they should be leashed and muzzled as necessary, and owners are responsible for cleaning up pet waste.

Special Traffic Information

Due to the large number of vendors and event patrons street closures are necessary on September 30th from the hours of 4am until 8pm. Main Street will be closed between Holman and Nance Streets. College Street will be closed between Friend and Boyce Streets. Boyce Street will be closed between College and Nance Streets. The Newberry County Court House Parking Lot will be closed after 1am on September 30th. Please have your vehicle removed from these downtown locations by 1am on September 30th, 2016
